Rock Climbing

Located along Lookout Mountain, the sandstone boulders of Cherokee Rock Village are a premier rock climbing location in the country. The site has everything from gentle rising broad boulders that may be enjoyed by a novice to vertical rocks for the experienced sport climber.

There are over 200 top rope routes, trad climbing and bouldering. For detailed information about climbing CRV, pick up a copy of The Dixie Cragger’s Atlas from the camp store.

Camping

Nestled in the beauty of nature, you will find the perfect campsite to enjoy your visit to the park. Camping options include over 100 primitive sites, RV sites, dump station, and fresh water for water supply.

For your comfort there is a heated bath house located adjacent to the pavilion.

Hiking

You will be amazed at the trail options at Cherokee Rock Village. There are trails for visitors who might enjoy a short easy walk in nature to a more challenging hike through steep terrain.

RC Rock Crawling

One of the nation’s fastest-growing activities, Rock Crawling offers an extreme form of off-road driving using specialized vehicles to overcome obstacles.

At Cherokee Rock Village, you will find terrain to challenge both the machine and the operator/driver.  CRV is host to several RC Rock Crawling competitions though out the year.  Be sure to follow us on Facebook for upcoming events!

Bird Watching

Whether observing from the open boulder fields, hiking trails, or mature forests,  birding enthusiasts will not be disappointed.  From atop the sandstone boulders is the perfect location to view birds of prey as they soar high above Weiss Lake.  At the base of the boulders Eastern Phoebes nest in the rock clefts. In the mixed-wood forested area, you may be fortunate to spot a

Observation Deck, Pavilion, & Playground

During your visit, the Pavilion provides a great place for family and friends to gather.  For larger parties, reservations are available.  The well-equipped playground is a favorite spot for young visitors.
